About Us

Our Mission

Innocent Paws Puppy Rescue believes that mother dogs and their puppies belong in lifelong loving homes, not in shelters!  We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue devoted to helping mother dogs and their pups move out of overcrowded shelters and into loving homes. Our mission is to help decompress high volume overcrowded shelters and reduce euthanasia rates by removing vulnerable mother pups and their litters, and motherless litters from these environments.  Once removed we provide nurturing foster environments and any needed medical attention and emotional support to ready them for adoption.  From there our goal is to connect these pups with a well matched, loving, and committed family.  Without the help of generous donors we would not be able to do this work.

Our Vision

According to the ASPCA 6.5 million companion animals end up in shelters across the country each year.  Of those, 3.3 million are dogs.  Only half of the dogs entering the shelter environment escape euthanasia.   Our vision is to find permanent homes for the pups we rescue and support our new pups and their owners to prevent the likelihood of the pups returning to the shelter environment through education and community resources.  Thanks to our shelter partners, fosters, and adopters we were able to save over 400 pups from euthanasia since 2019.

The Last Oops!

Another way that we help the communities that we rescue from is to help place "Oops" litters from the community.  There are those  who want to keep the mother dog and just cannot afford to have her spayed.  We help by rescuing the litter, once they are old enough to leave their mother, and pay to spay the mother dogs who have had unplanned litters in order to keep the dog with its family of origin and to prevent any further "Oops!" litters.
